What is Responsible Pet Ownership?

    There are many reasons as to why pet owners don’t have much time. It might be due to socio-economic factors giving them limited financial resources. That is why most of them need to cut their personal time and shift it to their working hours. Before owning a pet, you must always consider if you can manage your time and if you can budget it for taking good care of your pet.

     You must have enough budget to have a pet. Some might have a pet as a companion given budget constraints, however, as a responsible owner avoid inconveniencing your pet due to this factor. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to have a lavish meal for your pet but it should be nutritionally enough to sustain their daily lives.

    There might be too many reasons to list down as to why the owner might be not ready emotionally. Before you own a pet, you must also look into your self if you are ready emotionally. Your emotions might impact on how you will take good care of your pet. There might be some instances that their owners physically abuses their pet leading to more aggressive pet. Some who are not emotionally ready caged or leashed their pet. Do not keep them on a leash or cage 24/7 because this will also impact the way on how your pet controls their emotions.

Before you own a pet, where do you exactly place it? Do you have enough space? responsible pet ownership means that you shouldn’t neglect your pet and let them wander around the neighborhood. Do not let your pet poop and pee on the streets. Avoid inconveniencing your neighbors.

Some pet owners skip vaccination for their pets. Once you own a pet. Always make sure to vaccinate them especially for rabies. We really can’t tell when they will be aggressive or defend themselves from other humans.

My Two Cents


It is alright to own a pet as a companion however, always remember that it is like adding another member of the family. It is a commitment that could last the lifetime of your pet, that is why it is fair enough to give them the best care possible in exchange of the affection and loyalty that they will give to you.
